The Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) has launched strict enforcement measures against individuals who dump sand, soil, gravel, and other materials on public roads across the state.

The move was announced in a statement issued by the Authority’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, on behalf of the Director General, retired Major Garba Yahaya Rimi.

According to the statement, indiscriminate dumping of such materials on roads has been identified as a major cause of road accidents, a threat to public safety, and a disruption to the free flow of traffic.

The Authority warned residents to desist from the practice, describing it as unlawful, and stressed that violators would face sanctions in line with existing laws.

KASSAROTA also urged members of the public to report any form of road obstruction through its official hotline, 07079887711, to enable prompt response.

It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring safe and smooth transportation across Katsina State.
